IRONMAN 70.3 World Championship: Sunshine Coast 2017
Last year, more than 3,000 athletes from around across the globe gathered on the Sunshine Coast to compete in the 70.3 Ironman World Championship final.
On the 10th of September 2017, the international competition is returning to the Sunshine Coast for it’s qualifying round, giving athletes the chance to compete for a slot in the 2018 finals in Nelson Mandela Bay, South Africa.
The gruelling course starts with a 1.9km swim off the surf beach at Mooloolaba, followed by a 90km fast bike course. The competitors will finish the race on foot, running two laps of the Mooloolaba Esplanade while the crowd cheers them on.
